Prior to COVID in the summer of 2019 the Camp organized a fundraiser to raise money specifically to renovate the candidate rooms.
It was a beautiful opportunity for the various communities the Camp serves to come together in fellowship to enjoy a dinner together while raising funds for the camp. It was successful in both community building and raising funds. Along with the funds raised, members of the community donated time and materials to the work effort. During the winter break after the scheduled weekends we were able to complete the work. The bathrooms were completely demolished and rebuilt from the ground up and the studs out. This includes new shower stalls using a solid molded form that should be easy to keep clean, resistant to leaks, and able to serve our candidates for many years to come. The cracked tiles in those bathrooms are now a thing of the past that long serving members of the community can regal the newer members with. Unfortunately, only a few weekends were able to use the renovated rooms. As we open back for weekends hopefully everyone will be able to see the changes in person but until we can see each other on the mountain you can get some idea of the work done below. |
